WELCOME TO FAIRMOUNT LAUNDRY

I built Fairmount Laundry to celebrate my love for the East Coast and my Italian-American heritage. I wanted to share all of the things that my grandfather, Anthony Natelli, instilled in me. He taught me how to eat well, be a fighter, to hustle and work hard, to be strong, and most importantly, to pray and to love. He taught me the incomparable value of family and the joy of grandiose get-togethers.

Fairmount Laundry was the first business my great grandfather owned in Jersey City when he arrived from Italy in 1913. He was my grandfather’s greatest influence and best friend, so I feel as though it is his principles and values that were passed down to me. My favorite stories to listen to were the ones my grandfather would tell me about his life. Like how he and his dad used to deliver the laundry on a horse and carriage around Jersey City. So I’m bringing back the name that started it all, Fairmount Laundry.

There is a certain breed of unfiltered authenticity among tristate natives. Tough and pure. We might be America’s greatest lovers, and fighters. With Fairmount Laundry, I hope to inspire that confidence and feeling of freedom to say what you want to say, when you want to say it, no matter where you’re from. That strong faith and resilience. That fearlessness to not hold back from saying, “I love you” or, “Take a walk.”

From the time I was a little girl to the last voicemail my grandfather ever left me, his strong voice always reminded me that I could do anything I wanted to do. “But remember,” he’d say, “you have to love what you do in order to be successful.” At the end of his last voicemail he left me with, “You’ve got nothin’ to be afraid of. You’re a fighter. You’ve got my blood in ya.”

So I’ve decided to share all that I love by doing what I love: creating. Creating a brand where I hope to bring some of that bold, fun and inspiring East Coast spirit into your wardrobe no matter where you live. Welcome to Fairmount Laundry.

The Fairmount Family Grows:

In 2019, I fell in love. I found a love greater than any love in the history of love. I fell in love with the actual man that I truly envisioned and seemingly manifested when I was creating Fairmount Laundry. Alone in Gotham, as I checked off the box of always wanting to live in Manhattan, I dreamed of my next chapter, falling in love and building a home, somewhere across the river, in Jersey City. This dream was deeply intertwined with what drove me to create Fairmount Laundry. And as I sit here in my new studio, overlooking the meadowlands and the Hudson River, I can hardly believe that dream came true. It is with a full and grateful heart, that I thank God everyday, over and over again. I suppose there is something to be said for affirmations!

So in the name of love, I am pleased to say Fairmount now has a patriarch in addition to its matriarch! And his name is Matt! While his first love is Jiu Jitsu, he’s also passionate about fashion and art, and somehow, has exquisite taste, and bundles of talent, effortlessly. Believe it or not, we actually went to high school together, here in the Garden State! More than a decade later, we reconnected at his brother’s wedding and just like that, the rest of our lives began. He embodies everything Fairmount represents and more, so moving forward I am delighted to say that he will be weighing in and contributing to everything Fairmount and you’re going to love him!
